Job purpose

 

The focus of the Corporate Accountant role is to provide support to the Corporate Controller.  This will include all AR, AP, General Ledger, and reconciliation processes. This role will utilize independent thinking and problem-solving skills to identify and analyze problems and implement appropriate solutions, improve processes, enhance customer service, and contribute to providing successful financial reporting for BELAY Solutions. The Corporate Accountant will demonstrate meticulous attention to detail and provide exceptional service to clients, contractors, and team members.

Duties and responsibilities

Accounting Responsibilities

 
  • Record journal entries as necessary (Payroll, Accruals, Prepaids, etc.)
  • Reconcile Imp Fees/Buyouts in SFDC/QB
  • Prepare the weekly income report for review by the Corporate Controller
  • Release approved A/P Payments weekly
  • Review general ledger for accurate recording of expenses in accordance with BELAY’s policies.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accruals and prepaids at month-end 
  • Monthly bank statement reconciliations.
  • Monthly reconciliation of Wingspan A/R and A/P invoicing and payments
  • Assist Corporate Controller with maintaining and updating departmental budgets as necessary.
  • Distribute and file monthly reports
  • Understand BELAY’s A/R and A/P Functions to provide support for accurate accounting
  • Assist the Corporate Controller with ad-hoc projects and/or initiatives as needed.
  • Assist with fulfilling ongoing corporate audit responsibilities.
 

Qualifications

 

The ideal candidate has strong, proven customer service skills in both written and verbal communication by responding in a timely and friendly manner. In addition, he/she must possess business acumen, be organized, be able to problem-solve, and own the details. The candidate should have 2-4 years of experience working with general ledger, accounts receivable/accounts payable functions, and financial reporting.

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience. 
  • Excellent understanding of best financial practices and accounting processes.
  • An analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude.
  • Keen eye for detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage deadlines. 
  • Display exemplary ethical behavior when working with confidential financial documents.
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly to multiple software applications.
  • Must be a driven self-starter, a positive thinker, loyal and trustworthy.
  • Attributes of flexibility, creativity, self-discipline, strong organizational skills, and action orientation are essential for this role.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Team player who is willing and able to “roll up the shirt sleeves” to get a project done when needed.
  • A high degree of autonomy with the capability of working remotely. 
 

Working conditions

 

BELAY Corporate, as a virtual company, offers you the ability to work from home full-time. As such, a dedicated and secure workspace, free of distractions is required. Our standard business hours are Monday-Friday. Some roles will require travel.
