Job purpose  

The AI Automation Engineer & Enablement Lead is responsible for leading BELAY’s internal AI enablement and automation initiatives through the design, development, implementation, and optimization of scalable AI-powered systems and workflows. This role serves as a technical lead and internal advisor, helping teams identify opportunities to improve efficiency, streamline operations, and enhance decision-making through practical and responsible AI adoption.

This role combines hands-on technical development with cross-functional enablement and organizational support. The AI Automation Engineer & Enablement Lead will partner with teams across the organization to build scalable automation solutions, improve AI fluency, and guide strategic AI adoption aligned with business priorities.

Duties and responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, implement, and maintain scalable AI-powered automations, integrations, and workflow solutions that support operational efficiency across the organization.
  • Develop and support automation solutions using technologies such as Python, SQL, APIs, orchestration tools, and AI platforms.
  • Evaluate and recommend AI and automation tools, platforms, and integrations based on scalability, maintainability, business value, security, and operational impact.
  • Lead the ongoing administration, optimization, and support of BELAY’s internal AI and automation tools and systems.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to identify workflow inefficiencies and develop scalable automation and AI-driven solutions.
  • Translate business needs into technical requirements and communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain a roadmap for AI and automation initiatives aligned with organizational priorities and operational goals.
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness and business impact of automation and AI initiatives.
  • Design and deliver training programs, workshops, documentation, and learning resources that build AI fluency and responsible AI usage across the organization.
  • Provide guidance and support to teams adopting AI-enabled tools and workflows, promoting scalable and sustainable practices.
  • Monitor emerging AI and automation technologies, trends, and best practices and proactively bring forward recommendations to leadership.
  • Build and maintain centralized documentation, playbooks, workflow guides, prompts, and best practices related to AI and automation tools.
  • Support vendor evaluations, implementation efforts, and ongoing management of AI-related tools and services.
  • Collaborate with Operations, IT, and business leaders to support adoption, change management, and operational integration of AI solutions.
  • Maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and workflow standards related to automation and AI initiatives.
  • Represent BELAY on cross-functional initiatives and external AI- or automation-related conversations as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of experience in software development, automation engineering, systems integration, or related technical fields
  • Demonstrated experience designing, building, and maintaining workflow automations, integrations, or scalable technical solutions in production environments
  • Experience with Python, SQL, APIs, workflow orchestration tools, automation platforms, and AI-enabled technologies
  • Experience building or supporting AI-powered automations, integrations, or workflow solutions required
  • Strong understanding of automation, systems design, workflow optimization, and AI implementation best practices
  • Ability to evaluate technical solutions and communicate tradeoffs, risks, and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience developing training materials, workshops, or enablement programs for users with varying levels of technical experience preferred
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and process improvement skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts in clear, actionable language
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and cross-functional initiatives simultaneously
  • Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders
  • Experience with tools such as Google Workspace, Salesforce, Slack, Asana, Zoom, or similar business platforms preferred
  • Familiarity with AI APIs, orchestration frameworks, workflow automation platforms, and business intelligence tools preferred
  • Experience with vendor evaluation, implementation support, and change management initiatives preferred

Working conditions

BELAY Corporate offers full-time remote work, requiring a dedicated, distraction-free home office for standard Monday-Friday business hours, with occasional travel for some roles. Physical requirements

Salary range

$115,000 - $120,000

Location requirements

This role is remote within the U.S. However, due to employment and tax compliance considerations, we are currently unable to hire employees in the following states: California, New York, Illinois, Oregon.
