Job purpose  

Staff Accountants at BELAY play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional service to our financial solutions clients. They support multiple client accounts and serve as integral members of each client’s accounting team. This is a client-facing position (not an internal corporate role), acting as the primary point of contact for day-to-day accounting matters and actively participating in regular client meetings.

Duties and responsibilities

As a BELAY Financial Team member, you will professionally represent the company in all virtual and in-person interactions. You are expected to exemplify our mission, vision, and core values daily, fostering a collaborative and positive team environment.

Staff Accountants are the backbone of our Onboarding Team’s success. They serve as the primary contact for all accounting-related communications, collaborate with the team to drive account clean-up initiatives, and actively engage in client meetings—offering support and leading process discussions as needed. The initial project and account clean up begins with our detail-oriented and analytical Staff Accountants.

  • Accounting-related email communication on behalf of the client
  • Represent BELAY Financial with a high level of professionalism in all communications

The Onboarding Team’s mission is straightforward: to set clients up for success. The team’s goal is to efficiently transition new clients and processes into the Account Team workflow. Staff Accountants on this team must demonstrate initiative and adaptability in a dynamic environment with evolving routines and deadlines. The Onboarding Team works closely with clients to gather necessary information, integrate them into established workflows, and ensure a seamless handoff to other BELAY service teams.

Qualifications

This role requires a motivated and trustworthy self-starter with strong communication and technological skills who thrives both independently and on a team. Our ideal team member is flexible, creative, well-organized, and ready to roll up their sleeves to get the job done!

  • Bachelor's degree or a year or more of accounting-related experience
  • Produce work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong critical thinking and interpersonal skills
  • Financial statement proficiency
  • Understanding of Accounting Principles
  • Accounting Systems Knowledge in QuickBooks Online, BILL, Gusto or similar cloud-based accounting, payroll, and/or business management software
  • Ability to manage time and workload in a remote environment
  • Professional, kind, and proactive in all client-facing communication (written and on camera)

Bonus Points If Our Staff Accountant Has:

  • Experience with accounting for startup, project/service-based companies, and/or omnichannel inventory-based companies
  • Advanced experience in client-facing or customer service roles
  • Advanced experience with , Amazon, Shopify, or other modern e-commerce sales channels
  • Advanced experience with Cin7 Core, or other inventory management systems.
  • Working on or planning to earn a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license

Working conditions

BELAY Financial offers full-time remote work, requiring a dedicated, distraction-free home office for standard Monday-Friday business hours, with occasional travel for some roles. Salary range

$55,000 - $65,000
